fix(providers): retire common ChatGPT Web provider (#11754)
Rebased onto the current release/v3.8.51 tip as part of a combined provider-retirement/provenance merge batch (Designer Web, Felo Web, Runtime, GPL-derived removal, Qwen Web already landed). Large conflict set (this is the biggest PR in the batch — the common ChatGPT Web provider touches chat, images, count-tokens, session leases, and combos). Conflicts resolved: - `open-sse/config/providers/registry/chatgpt-web/*`, `open-sse/executors/chatgpt-web*`, `open-sse/handlers/imageGeneration/providers/chatgptWeb.ts`, and their tests: kept deleted, matching the PR's stated scope. - `open-sse/config/providers/registry/minimax/web/index.ts`, `open-sse/handlers/imageGeneration/providers/geminiWeb.ts`, `open-sse/executors/gemini-web.ts`'s stale image-mode branch: base-drift collisions against already-merged sibling retirements (#11691, #11708) — kept deleted / dropped the dead code, since this PR's own branch forked before those merged. - `src/shared/constants/reservedProviderPrefixes.ts`, `open-sse/executors/index.ts`, `executorProxy.ts`, `virtualFactory.ts`, `autoStrategy.ts`, `src/lib/db/providers.ts`, `src/sse/handlers/chat.ts`: combined the Designer + Runtime (Felo/Qwen) + common-ChatGPT-Web retirement guard calls at each shared chokepoint — compute-once-then-OR pattern, consistent with prior combinations in this batch. - `src/sse/services/model.ts` / `src/sse/handlers/chatHelpers.ts`: adopted this PR's new `getModelInfoOrRetirementResponse()` central wrapper (a real improvement over ad-hoc try/catch), and extended it to also catch the Designer + Runtime retirement errors it didn't originally cover, so the consolidation doesn't regress the other two mechanisms. - `src/app/api/v1/images/edits/route.ts`: this PR moved the retirement check earlier (before `enforceApiKeyPolicy`) but left the old later call+catch block in place from base drift — removed the now-redundant duplicate `resolveImageRouteModel()` call and merged the Designer catch into the earlier one. - `open-sse/config/imageRegistry.ts`, `tests/snapshots/executors/executor-map.json` (`keyCount` recomputed to 133), `tests/snapshots/provider/translate-path.json`: same "both sides inserted a different retired provider at the same slot" pattern — resolved by dropping both. - `tests/unit/chatcore-executor-proxy.test.ts`, `provider-node-reserved-prefix.test.ts`, `combo-auto-candidate-expansion.test.ts`, `messages-count-tokens-route.test.ts`, `virtual-auto-combo.test.ts`: split into independent per-mechanism test blocks (established pattern); `virtual-auto-combo.test.ts`'s old "includes cookie web-session providers" positive-inclusion test (which used chatgpt-web as its example) was retired along with the provider and replaced by this PR's negative-exclusion test for the same slot. - `docs/architecture/ARCHITECTURE.md`, `CODEBASE_DOCUMENTATION.md` (+ 4 i18n mirrors), `README.md`, `FREE-TIERS-GUIDE.md`, `docs/diagrams/free-tier-budget.svg`, `docs/screenshots/free-tier-budget-card.svg`, `docs/reference/PROVIDER_REFERENCE.md`: recomputed every stale count from the real merged state — 104 executors (`countFiles` gate logic), 351 providers (regenerated via `gen:provider-reference`), 152/351 `hasFree` entries, 445/438/7 free-tier catalog rows, 13 ToS-avoid providers, budget-card regenerated via its real generator script. One doc conflict (`oauth/` module list) needed picking HEAD's side specifically — theirs still listed the already-removed `raycast` module instead of the real `openference`. - `config/quality/test-masking-allowlist.json`: additive merge of the PR's 17 `_deletedWithReplacement` entries alongside the batch's existing ones (one real duplicate-key mistake in my first pass, caught and fixed via a `object_pairs_hook` duplicate-key check before finalizing). Also fixed two real, unrelated-to-my-merge issues surfaced by the focused suite: - `tests/unit/resolve-web-provider-host.test.ts`: the PR's own test had a typo — it asserted `perplexity-web`'s resolved host as `"perplexity.ai"`, but the provider's registered `website` is `"https://www.perplexity.ai"` and the resolver returns the URL's `host` verbatim (no www-stripping), so the correct value is `"www.perplexity.ai"` (consistent with the same test's own `url` assertion). - `tests/unit/hard-session-lease-bypass-inventory.test.ts`: this golden call-site inventory was already stale on the pristine post-#11713 tip (confirmed via a throwaway probe worktree) — `src/lib/db/providers.ts`'s 3 connection-fallback sites and a third `src/app/api/providers/route.ts` site were never added to the golden list by the earlier-merged #11698/#11720 PRs. Updated it to the real current inventory (dated inline comments explain each delta and which PR introduced it), plus this PR's own legitimate deltas (image-edits duplicate-call removal, `ChatGptWebExecutor.execute()` site removed). Focused suite green (433/433 across executor-proxy, reserved-prefix, hard-session-lease-bypass-inventory, resolve-web-provider-host, retirement/runtime-block/source-retirement/management-retirement/image-handler-retirement, migration-168, combo-auto-candidate-expansion, virtual-auto-combo, executor-map-golden and siblings), plus `typecheck:core`, `check-file-size`, and `check-changelog-integrity` clean. Thanks for the thorough provenance-hold retirement work — appreciated. |

fix(providers): retire Qwen Web pending provenance review (#11713)
Rebased onto the current release/v3.8.51 tip as part of a combined provider-retirement/provenance merge batch (Designer Web, Felo Web, Runtime, GPL-derived removal all landed together already). Conflicts resolved: - `src/shared/constants/providerRetirement.ts`: add/add conflict — combined `felo-web`/`felo` (already-merged) with `qwen-web`/`qw` into one `RUNTIME_RETIRED_PROVIDER_IDS` set, kept both `assertRuntimeProviderAvailable`/`assertRuntimeModelProviderAvailable` helpers. - `open-sse/config/providers/registry/minimax/web/index.ts`: modify/delete — kept deleted (file is hailuo-web's registry entry, already retired by #11691; this PR's own change to it was just a comment reword on a since-removed target). - `open-sse/executors/index.ts`, `executorProxy.ts`, `virtualFactory.ts`, `autoStrategy.ts`, `model.ts`, `chat.ts`, `chatHelpers.ts`, `auth.ts`, `src/lib/db/providers.ts`, `reservedProviderPrefixes.ts`: combined the Designer + Runtime (Felo + Qwen) retirement guard calls at each shared chokepoint — compute-once-then-OR pattern, consistent with the prior Designer+Felo combination. - `src/shared/constants/providers/web-cookie.ts`, `tests/snapshots/provider/translate-path.json`, `tests/snapshots/executors/executor-map.json`: both sides had inserted a different retired provider (qwen-web vs. already-retired raycast/hailuo-web) at the same dict position — resolved by dropping both. `executor-map.json`'s `keyCount` recomputed to 135 (matches actual merged `entries`). - `tests/unit/chatcore-executor-proxy.test.ts`, `tests/unit/provider-node-reserved-prefix.test.ts`: split into independent Felo/Qwen test blocks (established pattern for coexisting retirement-mechanism tests); recomputed `RESERVED_PREFIX_COUNT` to 398 (Designer+Felo+Qwen tombstones on top of the post-#11691 REGISTRY, verified via direct module evaluation, not hand-derived). - `config/quality/test-masking-allowlist.json`: additive merge of Qwen's `_deletedWithReplacement` entries alongside Designer's. - `README.md` + all `docs/i18n/*/README.md` mirrors, `docs/getting-started/FREE-TIERS-GUIDE.md`, `docs/reference/FREE_TIERS.md`, `docs/diagrams/free-tier-budget.svg`, `docs/screenshots/free-tier-budget-card.svg`: recomputed the free-tier catalog counts (447 entries / 440 active / 7 discontinued) from the actual merged `freeModelCatalog.data.ts`, regenerated the budget-card SVG via its real generator (`scripts/research/gen-budget-card-svg.mjs`), and dropped the retired Qwen quick-start row / QWEN MODELS section from every i18n README (identical unlocalized block across all 34 locales). - Also fixed a duplicate-import merge artifact in `src/lib/db/providers.ts` (`isRuntimeRetiredProviderId` imported twice) caught by `typecheck:core`, and rebaselined `file-size-baseline.json` for the combined retirement-guard growth (`virtualFactory.ts` +3, with justification). Focused suite green (345/345 across executor-proxy, reserved-prefix, migration-167, qwen-web-retirement, virtual-auto-combo, web-cookie/session, executor-map-golden and siblings), plus `typecheck:core` and `check-file-size`/`check-changelog-integrity` clean. Thanks for the provenance-hold retirement work — appreciated. |

fix(sse): retire Microsoft Designer Web runtime (#11720)
Merged via /merge-batch (v3.8.51 provenance sweep). Boarded and validated together with the batch's other retirement PRs in a combined worktree — full gate suite green. This PR's own conflicts (against #11711's EdgeTTS retirement, both touching test-masking-allowlist.json and the "Image / video / audio generation" README bullet) were reconciled additively/subtractively (both retirements now correctly reflected), re-validated with this PR's own 62 focused tests, and pushed before merge. Thank you. |

fix(ollama): route models by advertised capability (#11087) — port of #11088 to the release line (#11271)
Validated on the combined 8-PR board: ollama-local-capabilities-routing 3/3, managed-model-import 9/9 (including the integration with the carried Gemini-3.5-Flash cleanup from #11259), 88/88 across the board's focused suites, typecheck:core + dashboard-typecheck clean, gates within baseline. This brings #11088 to the release line — it had squash-merged to main by base error (mine) — AND fixes the two defects the port caught: the global filter drop that leaked image/video models into OpenAI chat selections (now scoped to self-hosted providers) and the unregistered hard-lease credential site. Exemplary port discipline: byte-identical carry + the corrections in a separate reviewable commit + the superpowers docs deliberately left out. main still needs the same two-line fix. fix(combo): restrict auto combo pools to user-visible models (#10456)
Auto combos (virtual auto/* pools via virtualFactory and pure-auto named combos via expandAutoComboCandidatePool) expanded their candidate pool from the provider's STATIC registry catalog, which can include models the operator never synced or approved (e.g. openrouter/auto). The visibility filter (getHiddenModelsByProvider) only caught models explicitly flagged isHidden, so catalog-only models passed through and got routed upstream. Build the credentialed pool from the models the user actually has available (synced + custom non-hidden), falling back to the static catalog only when the operator has no synced/custom models for that provider. Applies to every provider uniformly (openai, kilocode, openrouter, ...), with per-connection scoping for synced models. Provider wildcards (providerWildcard.ts) already used the active synced catalog as the authoritative source. fix(auto-combo): short-circuit expandAutoComboCandidatePool when models[] is non-empty (#8598)
When an auto-combo has models[] populated by the operator but config.auto.candidatePool is empty (the default for combos created via the dashboard), expandAutoComboCandidatePool silently expands the candidate pool to every model of every active provider connection. This overrides the explicit list in models[] and lets unintended models (e.g. gemini-3.1-flash-lite) win the auto-strategy scoring contest. In omniroute@3.8.48 (npm) only one guard exists before the expansion loop (GUARD A: if (config.auto.candidatePool populated) return eligibleTargets). The upstream release branch release/v3.8.49 added a second guard (combo-ref check, PR #7301) but it does not cover the common pattern where models[] holds explicit kind:"model" entries. Both gaps share the same root mechanism and the same fix. The new guard short-circuits whenever models[] is a non-empty array, covering both kind:"model" entries (the dashboard default) and kind:"combo-ref" entries (which #7301 already handles). With this guard in place, the existing combo-ref check becomes redundant; it is left in place for the minimal-scope surgical fix, and can be removed in a follow-up cleanup. Validation (in isolated Docker, 3 providers + 4 controlled combos): - 3 explicit models, empty candidatePool: pool 60 -> 6 - 1 combo-ref + 2 explicit, empty candidatePool: pool 64 -> 10 - 3 explicit models, populated candidatePool (GUARD A path): 6 -> 6 - empty models[] virtual auto: 57 -> 57 (expansion preserved) Closes #8597 Co-authored-by: Michael de Souza Marcos <michael.smarcos@hotmail.com> |

[defer] feat(combo): universal cooldown-aware retry & auto-strategy combo-ref guard (#7301)
* feat(combo): universal cooldown-aware retry & auto-strategy combo-ref guard
Two changes:
1. Universal cooldown-aware retry (combo.ts):
- Remove strategy==="quota-share" gate from comboCooldownWaitEnabled
- Enables all 18 combo strategies (priority, weighted, round-robin, etc.)
to wait out a short transient cooldown and retry the full set
- Non-quota-share strategies use shouldWaitForComboCooldown directly
with earliestRetryAfter and reason="rate_limit" (no per-model lockout)
- quota-share retains its existing per-target model lockout logic
2. Auto-strategy combo-ref guard (autoStrategy.ts):
- expandAutoComboCandidatePool now detects kind==="combo-ref" entries
- When present, returns eligibleTargets without expanding to ALL providers
- Fixes scenario where an "auto" combo with combo-ref delegates to a
sub-combo but pulls in every model from every active provider
* feat(combo): global comboTimeoutMs + aggregated error diagnostics
Adds two features to improve combo resilience and debuggability:
1. Global combo timeout (comboTimeoutMs)
- Configurable per-combo via DEFAULT_COMBO_CONFIG (default 0 = disabled)
- After each target completes, checks if total elapsed time exceeds limit
- When exceeded, stops trying further targets and returns 504 immediately
- Backward-compatible: 0 preserves legacy unlimited-iteration behavior
2. Aggregated error diagnostics
- comboErrors array accumulates per-model failure details (model, status, error)
- On combo timeout or all-models-exhausted, returns a message listing the
first (up to 5) model-level errors with their HTTP status codes
- Enables operators to see WHICH models failed and WHY without digging
through individual server logs
* test(combo): cover universal cooldown-aware retry, comboTimeoutMs, and combo-ref guard
Adds/updates automated coverage for this PR's production changes (PR Test
Policy requires tests alongside src/open-sse/electron/bin changes):
- Update the "preserves the first failure status" expectation in
combo-routing-engine.test.ts: the aggregated per-model error-diagnostics
suffix is new intended output, not a regression.
- Add two new tests for the global comboTimeoutMs feature: the combo stops
dispatching further targets and returns 504/COMBO_TIMEOUT with aggregated
diagnostics once the ceiling trips, and comboTimeoutMs=0 (default) never
trips it.
- Rewrite the non-quota-share (priority) cooldown-wait scenario in
combo-quota-share-cooldown-wait-timing.test.ts: comboCooldownWait is no
longer gated on strategy === "quota-share", so a priority combo now waits
out a short 429 and re-dispatches too (via shouldWaitForComboCooldown with
reason "rate_limit"), instead of propagating immediately as before. Also
adds the disabled-flag counterpart for parity with the quota-share suite.
- Add coverage for the #COMBO-REF guard in expandAutoComboCandidatePool:
a combo whose models array contains a kind:"combo-ref" entry must not be
expanded to every model of every active provider.

* test(combo): keep the new comboTimeoutMs tests free of no-explicit-any
The two new tests initially copied the neighbouring tests' `any`-typed
handleSingleModel params / json() casts. Those neighbours are pre-existing
violations frozen in config/quality/eslint-suppressions.json at a count of 261
for this file, so the 7 new occurrences pushed it to 268 and broke `npm run
lint` (no-explicit-any is an error in tests/ since #6218; new violations must
be fixed, not re-frozen).
Type the new tests properly instead: `unknown`/`string` params, a
ComboErrorPayload interface for the parsed body, and drop the unused
`relayOptions: null as any` (the sibling combo cooldown suites already omit
it). Back to exactly 261 — the suppression file is untouched.

* fix(combo): gate the universal cooldown retry on the REAL lock reason, not a hardcoded "rate_limit"
The universal cooldown-aware retry kept the quota-share path on
resolveComboCooldownWaitDecision but gave every OTHER strategy a shortcut that
hardcoded `reason: "rate_limit"` and fed shouldWaitForComboCooldown the
earliestRetryAfter directly.
comboCooldownRetry.ts documents TWO deliberate barriers ("SECURITY —
quota_exhausted must be excluded"): (1) the reason allow-list, and (2) the
maxWaitMs ceiling, explicitly called the SECOND barrier. Hardcoding the reason
removed barrier 1 for 17 of the 18 strategies and left only the ceiling — which
does NOT cover a quota_exhausted lock whose wait lands under maxWaitMs. In that
case the combo waits, redispatches against a model that is locked until the
quota resets, and burns the retry budget for nothing.
The shortcut's premise ("non-quota-share combos have no per-connection model
lockout tracking") is also false: recordModelLockoutFailure in the target loop
is not gated on quota-share, so every strategy records model lockouts and the
real reason is always available.
Fix: one decision path for every strategy, always through
resolveComboCooldownWaitDecision, so the reason always crosses the allow-list.
The lock lookup is now keyed on each TARGET's own model (via a new third
`target` arg on lookupLock) — quota-share combos are single-model/multi-account
so this is identical to the previous orderedTargets[0] behavior, but
heterogeneous combos (priority, weighted, round-robin, …) carry a different
model per target and would otherwise miss every lock but the first.
Regression guard (tests/unit/serial/combo-quota-share-cooldown-wait-timing.test.ts):
a priority combo where modelLockout.errorCodes=[403] leaves the 403's
quota_exhausted lock as the only one in play while a 429 crystallizes the
status, and the resulting wait is short enough that the ceiling lets it through
— so only the allow-list can stop it. Verified failing-then-passing: with the
hardcoded reason the combo makes 6 dispatches (wait+redispatch x2); with the
real reason it makes 2 and propagates the 429.

Plumbagem (model resolvido = mesma var usada no log/roteamento, pós background-redirect/alias): - chatCore.ts: enforceQuotaShare ganha `model`; scheduleQuotaShareConsumption recebe `model`. - chatCore/quotaShareConsumption.ts: threade `model` no RecordConsumptionInput (non-streaming). - spendRecorder.ts: recordStreamingConsumption já recebia `model` — agora o coloca no RecordConsumptionInput (streaming accrue por-modelo). - embeddings.ts: enforce + record ganham `model`. Gated por strategy===quota-share + kill-switch resilienceSettings.quotaShareConcurrencyLimit (default on; UI no ResilienceTab). Map each to its dash-form slug. gpt-4-5 is already dash-form and falls through correctly, so it is intentionally left unmapped. Extends the executor MODEL_MAP test with the four ids and adds a drift guard asserting every advertised dot-form catalog id reaches the backend in dash-form (never verbatim), guarding future catalog<->map drift. file-size: tests/unit/chatgpt-web.test.ts frozen baseline 2809->2855 (+46) for the added test cases and drift-guard test; executor source unchanged in baseline. * docs(changelog): restore #3981/#5003 entries eaten by merge --------- Co-authored-by: Diego Rodrigues de Sa e Souza <souzamiriamrodrigues790@gmail.com> * feat(combos): add editable per-combo description field persisted via /api/combos (#5005) (#5011) * feat(combos): add editable per-combo description field persisted via /api/combos (#5005) * docs(changelog): restore #3981/#5003/#4665 entries eaten by merge --------- Co-authored-by: Diego Rodrigues de Sa e Souza <souzamiriamrodrigues790@gmail.com> * Fix Ollama Cloud max reasoning effort (#4993) Integrated into release/v3.8.36 * fix(copilot): replace execSync with execFile to prevent command injection (#5024) Integrated into release/v3.8.36 * fix(plugin): auth.json dual-key fallback for auto-prefix migration (#5027) Integrated into release/v3.8.36 * feat(endpoint): per-endpoint custom system prompt injection (#5022) Integrated into release/v3.8.36 * fix(headroom): translate openai-responses input through OpenAI for compression (#5023) Integrated into release/v3.8.36 * docs(changelog): add entries for #4993, #5024, #5027 (release notes credit) * fix(api): stop /api/system/env/repair 500 on packaged install (#5006) (#5028) * fix(api): stop /api/system/env/repair 500 on packaged install — lazy createRequire in sync-env.mjs (#5006) scripts/dev/sync-env.mjs ran createRequire(import.meta.url) at module top-level. When webpack bundles it into the standalone env-repair route, import.meta.url is frozen to the build-machine path (file:///home/runner/...) and createRequire throws during module evaluation, so the whole route module fails to load and every GET returns HTTP 500 — breaking the onboarding wizard on packaged/global installs. - Move createRequire into the guarded better-sqlite3 block (only place that needs it); a bad import.meta.url now returns the safe default. - resolveRootDir() falls back to process.cwd() when fileURLToPath throws. - route.ts passes an explicit rootDir (process.cwd()) so the helper never derives the root from the frozen import.meta.url, matching the .env target used by createEnvBackup(). - Regression guard: assert sync-env.mjs has no top-level createRequire + getEnvSyncPlan(oauth) works with explicit rootDir without throwing. * docs(changelog): restore #4993/#5023/#5024/#5027 + custom-system-prompt/headroom entries eaten by release merge * chore(quality): rebaseline 3 inherited base-reds from release merge Files NOT touched by this PR — grew on release/v3.8.36 via --admin merges and inherited here through 'git merge origin/release': - open-sse/executors/base.ts 1414->1416 (#4993 Ollama Cloud max-effort) - src/lib/db/settings.ts 1149->1151 (#5023 custom system prompt) - src/app/(dashboard)/.../endpoint/EndpointPageClient.tsx 2570->2612 (custom system prompt UI) * chore(release): finalize v3.8.36 CHANGELOG + docs (2026-06-25) --------- Co-authored-by: Diego Rodrigues de Sa e Souza <souzamiriamrodrigues790@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: KooshaPari <42529354+KooshaPari@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Makcim Ivanov <makcimbx@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Chewji <126886556+Chewji9875@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Anton <39598727+NomenAK@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Demiurge The Single <megamen932@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Randi <55005611+rdself@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Éder Costa <eder.almeida.costa@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Jefferson Felizardo <jeffer1312@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Arthur Bodera <abodera@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Hamsa_M <116961508+hamsa0x7@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Hernan Javier Ardila Sanchez <hjasgr@gmail.com> |
