e26a649d26 perf(ci): cache node_modules in the npm-ci-retry composite (#8084 D3) (#12408)
Every job installs through this composite — 36 times per ci.yml run, 8 per
quality.yml run — and each call paid ~80-90 s of npm ci even with setup-node's
npm tarball cache warm (measured 2026-09-01: 3,327 runner-seconds per ci.yml run
just installing). A node_modules cache keyed on runner.os + runner.arch + the
resolved Node version + hashFiles(package-lock.json, .npmrc, postinstall.mjs and
its five helpers) lets an exact hit skip the install entirely.

- No restore-keys, same rule as the ESLint cache (#11600): exact key or a full
  npm ci, never a partial tree from another lockfile / Node / postinstall.
- The retry loop is unchanged and remains the miss path; --no-audit --no-fund
  because audit:deps is its own gate.
- cache input (default true) lets a caller opt out.
- actions/cache pinned to the v6.1.0 hash already used in nightly-mutation.yml
  (zizmor unpinned-uses blanket policy).
- tests/unit/build/npm-ci-retry-composite.test.ts pins the key contents, the
  no-restore-keys rule and the miss path.

9d04995950 chore(quality): baseline-headroom skips generated and vendored files in the fileSize worst-file signal (#12291)
The nightly headroom monitor flagged fileSize 🟡 permanently because the worst
frozen file was src/app/docs/lib/openapi.generated.ts — frozen at its emitter's
exact output size in #12212, i.e. ~0% headroom BY CONSTRUCTION (growth is
policed by conscious re-freezes, never by editing the module). Same class:
open-sse/vendor/** (upstream code nobody slims by hand).

isMonitorExemptFile() excludes .generated. modules and vendor/ paths from the
monitor's worst/near-cap accounting only — check:file-size itself still
enforces both. The fileSize row now points at the worst HUMAN-EDITABLE frozen
file (currently tests/integration/skills-pipeline.test.ts at 4.5%, a true
early warning: its baseline note already requires a split rationale for any
further growth).

d920e6495a build: omit the standalone output target for contributor builds (#12204)
Completes the contributor profile: #12198 stopped OmniRoute from assembling the standalone bundle, but Next was still asked to emit one. Making output: "standalone" conditional on OMNIROUTE_BUILD_PROFILE=contributor removes the standalone tracing pass itself, which is where the remaining time went.

Default builds are unaffected — the flag is read from the env at config load and is false everywhere except the contributor profile, so tests/unit/next-config.test.ts still observes output === "standalone" (18/18 green across contributor-build-script, next-config and build-profile-stubs).

Reconciled on merge: CONTRIBUTING.md and scripts/build/backendOnlyPages.mjs already carried this stack's earlier steps on the tip, so both took the tip's side; only the next.config.mjs conditional and its test are this step's delta.

7f008ed09a build: stub the instrumentation entrypoints in the contributor profile (#12203)
Contributor builds only need compilation to type-check; pulling src/instrumentation.ts drags the whole startup graph (DB boot, model-catalog warm, quota fetchers) into the build. stubContributorInstrumentation() swaps both entrypoints for no-ops before next build and hands them to the existing restoreDashboardPages() path afterwards, reusing the same {file, original} shape and the SIGINT/SIGTERM handlers already registered in that block.

Reconciled on merge: the stub originally wrote 'export async function register() {}' into both files, but src/instrumentation-node.ts exports registerNodejs() (register lives in src/instrumentation.ts). Harmless in practice — instrumentation.ts is its only importer and is stubbed at the same time — but the stub misstated the file's contract, so it now emits the right symbol per file and the test asserts it.

Verified: contributor-build-script 3/3 green.

e3c440e804 build: skip standalone packaging in the contributor profile (#12198)
Makes the contributor profile actually fast: with OMNIROUTE_BUILD_PROFILE=contributor the build stops after next build instead of copying docs/ and running assembleStandalone, which is the expensive half and produces an artifact contributors never ship. Adds isContributorBuild() next to the existing isBackendOnlyBuild() and documents the compile-only contract in CONTRIBUTING.md.

Reconciled on merge: CONTRIBUTING.md's new paragraph was inside the ```bash fence and would have rendered as shell — moved below the closing fence. package.json auto-merged against the tip.

Verified: contributor-build-script + backend-only-smoke-workflows 10/10 green.

d898d1a913 build: force the webpack bundler in the contributor build profile (#12197)
The contributor profile added in #12192 inherited the default Turbopack bundler. Turbopack's native allocator is the documented OOM risk on memory-constrained machines (scripts/build/build-next-isolated.mjs:201-202), and OMNIROUTE_USE_TURBOPACK=0 is the escape hatch the same script already honours at line 139 — the repo's own nightly-compat workflow pins it to "0" for exactly this reason. Setting it on build:contributor makes the fast profile usable on the machines it targets.

Reconciled on merge: the branch was 51 commits behind and #12192 had already landed the script line, so only the env flag is new; the tip's dependency block was kept verbatim rather than taking the stale package.json wholesale.

Verified: tests/unit/build/contributor-build-script.test.mjs 1/1 green.

8b7afc0eba feat(quality): new-code mode for the complexity and dead-code ratchets (Clean as You Code) (#12142)
A global ratchet ("total ≤ baseline") reds an innocent PR whenever the base
drifted, and lets a PR that adds 10 violations pass as long as someone else
removed 11 — both happened this week. On pull_request events quality.yml now
passes --base-ref <PR base SHA> to check:complexity-ratchets and check:dead-code
(file-size already had it); in that mode the gate compares HEAD with the
merge-base RESTRICTED to the files the PR touched:

- blocking: violations / dead exports the PR added in files it changed
  (complexityNewCode=, cognitiveComplexityNewCode=, deadExportsNewCode=)
- advisory: the global total vs the frozen baseline (re-frozen at release,
  watched by the nightly headroom job)

scripts/check/newCodeMode.mjs holds the git side (merge-base, changed files,
throwaway `git worktree` of the base with node_modules linked — no stash, no
checkout) and the pure comparison helpers (13 unit tests). ESLint runs only on
the changed files in both trees (~20 s); knip runs twice (~70 s).

Exercised locally against the last 8 merges: complexity flagged
src/lib/credentialHealth/scheduler.ts (2→3, cognitive 1→2) and dead-code flagged
src/lib/resilience/settings.ts:CredentialHealthCheckSettings — findings the
global totals were hiding under the relaxed baselines.

workflow_dispatch, the release-green sweep and the headroom job have no PR base
and keep the absolute comparison. Docs: QUALITY_GATES.md → "New-code mode".

1f4dc830f3 chore(quality): velocity phase — loosen every numeric baseline by 20% until v4.0, monitor headroom nightly (#12125)
Owner decision (2026-08-30): shipping speed matters more than holding the debt line
until the v4.0 LTS modularization; the base was going red on every merge batch and
each red baseline cost a sweep.

Relaxation (one auditable pass, scripts/quality/relax-baselines.mjs):
- quality-baseline.json metrics: lower-is-better ×1.2, higher-is-better ÷1.2
  (coverage floor 60 kept; eslintErrors stays 0; eslintWarnings 0 → 1050 = 20% of
  the 5,247 frozen suppressions). Adds `_policy {phase: velocity, until: 4.0.0,
  relaxPct: 20, requireTighten: false}` + a `_relax_velocity_2026_08_30` note
  listing every before → after.
- complexity count 2681 → 3218; duplication 5.72 → 6.86; file-size cap/testCap
  1000 → 1200 and all 127 frozen caps ×1.2; api/dashboard/open-sse typecheck
  per-file counts ×1.2; openapi-coverage THRESHOLD 36 → 30.
- check-quality-ratchet: --require-tighten is advisory while _policy.requireTighten
  is false (2 new tests); nightly bank-ratchet-shrinks pauses during the phase (it
  would bank the measured shrink and undo the headroom every night).

Monitoring (scripts/quality/baseline-headroom.mjs, npm run quality:headroom):
measures each numeric gate the way CI does, prints live / baseline / headroom per
gate (ok ≥10%, warn <10%, critical <0); the new nightly `baseline-headroom` job
posts the table to the living issue "📈 Baseline headroom (velocity phase)" and
toggles the `headroom-alert` label. 6 unit tests on the pure helpers.

Also aligns the remaining red tests on the tip to contracts already merged:
#11775 (FREE lease-capable connections are ordinary capacity: gate inventory 48/97/99,
sse-auth selection, warmup scheduler), #11794 (dual-loopback readiness probe), and the
8 vi strings #11775 left as __MISSING__.

Docs: QUALITY_GATES.md → "Velocity phase" (what changed, tooling, how to close the
phase at 4.0), AGENTS.md quick reference.

38a29661d3 URGENT fix(build): route ChatGPT Web MCP bundle through runBuildTool (Windows/Node 24 build crash) v.50/.51 (#11706)
Confirmed the bug is real and unfixed on the current tip before merging: `scripts/build/prepublish.ts` line 332 was still calling `execFileSync(NPX_BIN, ...)` directly (raw win32 npx.cmd spawn), the exact CVE-2024-27980 shim pattern the file's own header warns about. Root cause, fix, and evidence match — routing through the existing `runBuildTool()` helper. Thanks for catching the one call site the earlier refactor missed.

* fix(ci): stop hosted docker-publish OOM and unpaint Build (advisory)

docker-publish was firing 8 concurrent hosted builds on every merge
storm; each died ResourceExhausted in npm run build (#11976). One
publish per ref, webpack instead of Turbopack so native RSS stays
inside the V8 heap we can cap. Build (advisory) is skipped: continue-on-error
still reports FAILURE and was painting every fork PR red.

Closes #11976

* fix(ci): run docker-publish amd64 on omni-build and share the heavy lane

The .113 box is 31 GB / 32 cores — enough for one next-build. Hosted
ubuntu-24.04 is ~7 GB and ResourceExhausted every publish (#11976).
amd64 now targets [self-hosted, omni-build] (Turbopack) when
USE_VPS_RUNNER is on, joins the existing heavy-build-main group so it
queues beside ci.yml Build instead of becoming a third heavy, and
falls back to hosted + webpack if the VPS is off. arm64 stays on
ubuntu-24.04-arm with webpack (no ARM box).

* test(ci): align the advisory-build contract with the hosted-OOM skip

if: ${{ false }} tripped zizmor obfuscation (194→195). Bare if: false
skips the job without a new finding. The #7307 test now pins the skip
and keeps the job body as the restore recipe.

* test(infra): retry recursive temp-dir removal instead of failing a shard on ENOTEMPTY (#11966)

Two shards on release/v3.8.51 went red in one day with the same signature —
"ENOTEMPTY, Directory not empty: /tmp/omniroute-<test>-XXXXXX" — from
combo-same-provider-cascade (Unit Tests fast-path 4/4, on a PR that touches only
.github/) and auth-policy-embeddings-webfetch-7785 (the 20k-test TIA step). Both pass
alone and on re-run: the cleanup races something still writing into the directory
(SQLite WAL/-shm checkpoint, a worker, the backup) and under a loaded hosted runner
the window opens. 1154 test files do their own cleanup with
fs.rmSync(dir, { recursive: true, force: true }); 57 already asked for retries.

One-shot codemod (scripts/ad-hoc/codemod-rm-maxretries.mjs, kept for the record):
every rm / rmSync / rmdirSync option object with `recursive: true` and no
`maxRetries` gains `maxRetries: 5, retryDelay: 100` — Node itself then retries
ENOTEMPTY/EBUSY/EPERM for up to ~0.5 s before giving up. 2243 call sites in 1292
files under tests/, the shared tests/_setup/isolateDataDir.ts exit hook included.
Only the option object changes: no call site, assertion or import is touched.

Validation: prettier and ESLint (with the frozen suppressions) clean on all 1292
files; a random 20-file sample runs green (quota-redis-store hangs identically on
the untouched tree — it needs a Redis on localhost, an environment matter). The
four unit shards on this PR are the full run.

* fix(quality): let check-forgotten-sibling-tests read a 1,000-file diff

The gate shells out to `git diff` through execFileSync with Node's default 1 MB
maxBuffer; the 1,292-file codemod in this PR is the first diff large enough to
overflow it, and the gate died with `spawnSync git ENOBUFS` before comparing
anything. 64 MB is far above any real PR and costs nothing when unused.

e3caa205fd fix(ci): detect stale workspace lockfile entries (#11714)
Removes stale nested browser-pool lock entries pinning Playwright 1.61.1/@types/node 22 despite the workspace declaring 1.62.1/26, and extends the lockfile gate with npm ls --workspaces --depth=0 so future manifest/lock drift fails visibly. 21/21 focused tests passing. Thanks!

7b7196f05d fix(docker-bun): strip Node SQLite addon from runtime (#11482)
Validated in a combined 4-PR batch worktree off release/v3.8.51 tip (complements #11468 and #11470, both merged first). Conflicted against #11470's Dockerfile.bun hunk in the shared worktree — resolved additively (both the ownership hardening and the addon-stripping RUN block coexist, ordered so the strip runs as root before USER bun) and pushed the same resolution to this branch.

Retargetado para release/v3.8.51 (release/v3.8.50 está congelada — freeze issue #11439). Validado em lote combinado (batch-0824h2, junto de #11435/#11436/#11437) contra o tip de release/v3.8.51: typecheck:core limpo, gates estáticos OK, 127/127 testes focados passando.

Investigação sólida com repro real via container isolado, três causas independentes identificadas e corrigidas com testes de regressão dedicados para cada uma. Obrigado pela contribuição!

Focused suites 125/125 across all 13 touched test files (build-sqlite-stub, cc-compatible, copilot-claude-messages, copilot-gemini-route, executor-github, ghe-copilot, github-copilot-discovery-token, github-copilot-model-discovery, noauth-sibling-7620, provider-header-profiles, provider-models-config, request-log-payloads, upstream-error-passthrough), typecheck:core clean, file-size/changelog-integrity OK. Merged --admin over the inherited 2026-08-23 base-red cluster (#9985) — the reds are proven tip failures (CLI catalog cluster + @testing-library allowlist, being drained by #11280), not from this diff. Note: the rebase means several items the body listed (relay x-relay-path SSRF, /v1/search blocked-providers, #10736 rotation fence, #10903, #10865, #10899, #10916) already landed upstream and are NOT in this delta — the delta is: better-sqlite3 build guard + build heap/worker caps + telemetry-off (#10060 re-derived), credential-echo passthrough refusal + OCR/moderation redaction + call-log key redaction, Copilot CLI 1.0.81-6 wire identity + Claude→/v1/messages name-matched routing + discovery token fix, CC model_not_found 400, compat overrides for no-auth aliases (#7620-pinned). The Copilot wire-identity change is the one to watch in production. Merged after conflict resolution: the 5 conflicting test files were the base-red drains that #11201 already landed on the tip — kept the tip versions; the feature content is untouched. Validated on the combined batch board + this branch: codex-app-server + codex-gpt56-catalog 25/25, typecheck:core clean, docs-counts green (351 providers), provider-consistency 268/351/0. The opt-in codex-app-server transport (JSON-RPC-over-WS, turn/completed-awaited close, Responses SSE bridge) leaves the default codex path untouched. Thank you @arminanton — a 3.4k-line transport with the docs wave and tests to match!

fb421bc580 fix(build): spawn esbuild cross-platform in the postbuild hook (#11159)
Validated on the combined batch board over tip 0b41259f: static gates clean, typecheck:core clean, 430+ focused tests green across 5 groups.

postbuild's esbuild spawn now resolves cross-platform (no more ENOENT after a successful Next compile on Windows). build-tool-runner-win-shim suite green. Thank you @aliyosufi — first contribution, welcome!

137e49e393 feat(search): first-class X Search via SuperGrok x_search (#10988)
5 — Provider x-search de primeira classe (SuperGrok/xAI x_search) em POST /v1/search e MCP omniroute_x_search. Fallback de credenciais xai-oauth→xao→xai; distinto de web search e do X Developer MCP.

Reconciliado com o release tip (que já incluía #10981 "skip catalog-default SearXNG" deste mesmo lote): merge trouxe 5 conflitos reais de contagem gerada (llm.txt/README.md/AGENTS.md/PROVIDER_REFERENCE.md/SVGs/46 mirrors i18n, todos verificados como bump puro 347→348, sem perda de conteúdo do HEAD) + 1 conflito real de mergeable=CONFLICTING.

Durante a validação, os 3 testes novos de SearXNG expuseram um bug real de interação com #10981: `isUnconfiguredLoopbackSearchProvider()` checava o baseUrl ESTÁTICO do catálogo em vez do baseUrl efetivo (após override de `provider_options.baseUrl` ou `providerSpecificData.baseUrl` da conexão), então QUALQUER request a searxng-search — mesmo com override customizado — era rejeitado como se fosse o default não-configurado. Corrigido em `open-sse/handlers/search.ts` (resolve o baseUrl efetivo via `resolveSearchBaseUrl()` antes do skip-check, tanto para o provider primário quanto o alternate). Um teste do próprio #10988 que assumia o comportamento pré-#10981 (default localhost:8888 sempre atendido) foi atualizado para refletir o comportamento já mesclado e intencional (503 quando não configurado).

Validação completa: typecheck limpo, 70/70 testes unit (search-route/search-registry/x-search-provider/searxng-loopback-default), 24/24 vitest MCP, 14/14 integration (search-providers-catalog), lint limpo nos arquivos tocados, docs-counts-sync OK (2 drifts soft pré-existentes, não relacionados), gates estáticos (file-size/complexity/cognitive/dead-code/changelog) todos OK.

3d7ed7aa87 fix(build): tolerate same-realpath symlink / stale-typed dest in assembleStandalone (#10776)
Under heavy concurrent build I/O, the bulk .build/next/standalone -> outDir tree
copy can already have carried a prior pass's result into a
NATIVE_ASSET_ENTRIES/EXTRA_MODULE_ENTRIES dest before that entry's own copy runs
(an absolute pnpm-store symlink resolving to the exact same realpath as src, or a
stale node of a different type). fs.cpSync/fs.cp refuse to overwrite either case
even with force:true, throwing ERR_FS_CP_EINVAL ("src and dest cannot be the
same") or ERR_FS_CP_DIR_TO_NON_DIR/ERR_FS_CP_NON_DIR_TO_DIR — non-deterministically
crashing the build:release/build:cli deploy pipeline on whichever entry the race
happened to hit that run.

Adds resolvesToSamePath/clearStaleDest guards to all four copy call sites (the two
sync loops in copyNativeAssetsAndExtraModules, repairEmptyExternalPackageDirs, and
the async syncNativeAssetsToDir/syncExtraModulesToDir twins) so a dest already
pointing at src is skipped and any other stale occupant is cleared before the
fresh copy.

* fix(antigravity): heal empty-projectId accounts via retryable auto-onboarding

Accounts with an empty Cloud Code projectId get a permanent 422 "Missing
Google projectId" when loadCodeAssist returns no project. The 3.8.50
bootstrap attempts to CREATE the project via onboardUser, but a single failed
attempt (transient network/upstream error) was memoized forever in
onboardAttemptedCache: every later request in the process skipped onboarding
and 422'd, even though a retry would succeed.

Replace the permanent per-token Set with a failure-backoff map: failed onboard
attempts are retried after a 5-minute backoff (bounded, self-healing), the
in-flight lock still dedupes concurrent calls, and success clears the failure
marker and memoizes the project as before. Accounts that CAN be onboarded now
heal automatically on a later request or token refresh — no user action.

Tests: the existing "does not retry" case is now framed as the backoff window;
a new case proves the account heals (retries onboarding and recovers the
project) once the backoff expires.

contract so CI unit-test shard 2/4 passes.

* fix(antigravity): persist isProjectIdManual, fix BYOP citation, dodge refresh-retry

Review follow-up on #10424:

1. EditConnectionModal: isProjectIdManual was set on
   updates.providerSpecificData right after the project-id field, then the
   OAuth path (Antigravity is always OAuth) rebuilt providerSpecificData from
   connection.providerSpecificData before the request went out, discarding the
   flag — tokenRefresh.ts was guarding a field never actually persisted. The
   flag now lands in the single surviving antigravity merge, with a jsdom
   regression test (modeled on edit-connection-modal-openai-store-toggle).

2. The '#2934' citation for the Google BYOP claim pointed at an unrelated
   closed issue. Swapped for the real tracking issue #8491 (empty Google
   projectId -> 422 class) across bootstrap/executor/test comments.

3. BYOP fast-fail now returns 422 instead of 403: chatCore's generic
   401/403 -> refresh-and-retry path was hitting Google's OAuth token
   endpoint on every request from an affected account (pointless — refreshing
   cannot create a GCP project), and 422 matches the sibling
   missing_project_id error the client already maps to an action-needed
   prompt.

Also: eslint-disable-next-line for the pre-existing
react-hooks/set-state-in-effect baseline noise in the modal (repo
convention, same pattern as 11 other dashboard files).

* chore(ci): drop unused eslint-disable in EditConnectionModal form hydration

The react-hooks/set-state-in-effect disable added in the previous commit is
unused under the repo's pinned eslint-plugin-react-hooks (7.0.1) — the rule
does not fire on this line at that version, so the unused directive tripped
the whole-repo 'No new ESLint warnings' gate (max-warnings 0). Verified with
the lockfile-pinned plugin: lint:json is clean (0 errors, 0 warnings).

* fix(build): bound and retry the opencode-plugin npm install in prepublish

The plugin's node_modules is gitignored, so every fresh CI checkout runs a
full npm install inside @omniroute/opencode-plugin during build:cli. npm's
unbounded fetch retries turn a stalled registry CDN connection (the recurring
onnxruntime-class ETIMEDOUT flake) into a 20-30 minute hang — the DAST
'Build CLI bundle' step has been cancelled at the 30m cap repeatedly.

- Bound npm fetch: --fetch-timeout 60s, 2 retries with capped backoff — a
  stalled connection now fails fast instead of hanging the job.
- Retry the install up to 3 times with a 10s pause between attempts, so
  transient CDN failures recover in-build.

Net effect: the step either completes (network OK) or fails quickly with a
clear error (network down) — it can no longer eat the whole job budget.

* ci(quality): use the npm-ci-retry action on every install step

Fast Quality Gates failed on the recurring onnxruntime-node postinstall
ETIMEDOUT (Microsoft CDN 150.171.x.x) - the same transient flake that has
hit Vitest and dast-smoke today. Only the Build job used the retry action;
the other five jobs (Docs, Fast Quality Gates, Vitest, Unit Tests,
changelog) still ran a bare install and die on any CDN hiccup. Use the
existing retry action (3 attempts, exponential backoff) on every install
step for consistency.

* Merge branch 'release/v3.8.50' into fix/antigravity-project-autocreate

* test(fix): refresh expired alibaba quota sample validity and onnxruntime pin for v3.8.50 base

- alibaba-free-tier-quota-fetcher.test.ts: sample quotaValidityPeriod
  (2026-08-16 16:00 UTC) is in the past, making every quota entry classify
  as expired/not_capable; bump to 2028-01-01 UTC so the text/merge
  classification tests exercise the intended path again.
- optional-transformers-dependency.test.ts: onnxruntime-node pin assertion
  updated from ~1.24.3 to ~1.27.0 to match package.json (bumped by #10403);
  the regular-not-optional intent is unchanged.

* test(fix): widen modelsDevSync lastSync wait from 200ms default to 2000ms

The truthy-spellings loop asserted each enabled case completes its first
fetch within waitFor's 200ms default timeout, which trips under CI runner
load (observed on PR 10424 shard 2/4). Match the file's other lastSync
waits (2000ms) so the sync-completion assertion is load-tolerant.

c6c134300b perf(electron): ship optional ML/browser deps as installable packs (#10382)
Stage 7 of issue #10321 moves the optional ML and browser automation dependency closures out of the desktop bundle into checksummed, versioned packs installed on demand through the omniroute packs command.

- scripts/build/optionalPackStaging.mjs stages pack members under .build/optional-packs, creates release tarballs, and emits optional-packs.index.json with per-member SHA-256 checksums.
- scripts/packs provides manifest, install, remove, and verification helpers plus the packs CLI commands.
- Runtime lookup includes installed pack node_modules directories, while LLMLingua and browser executors continue to degrade gracefully when packs are absent.

The measured darwin-arm64 staging closure was about 534 MB of the 929 MB standalone node_modules tree (57%).

6b85413b87 perf(electron): build the Next standalone once and hydrate natives per leg (#10321 stage 8) (#10390)
The desktop release matrix ran the full Next.js standalone build on all four legs (windows, macos-intel, macos-arm64, linux), duplicating the platform-neutral majority of that work four times and re-exposing every leg to the hosted-runner RAM class of failure that took the linux leg out of v3.8.49.

- scripts/build/standaloneTarball.mjs: deterministic, dependency-free tar.gz writer/reader (uid/gid/mtime pinned, sorted entries, symlink + exec-bit preservation; GNU-tar interop covered by tests).
- scripts/build/standaloneManifest.mjs: byte-level manifest of .build/next (sha256 + size + symlink target per entry, plus the archive's own digest) catching artifact-transfer corruption before extraction and re-verifying the restored tree byte-for-byte, smuggling included.
- scripts/build/standaloneBundle.mjs: pack / restore / hydrate CLI over the two modules above.
- scripts/build/hydrateNativeDeps.mjs: swaps install-machine-forked native optionals (@img/sharp-*, @ngrok/ngrok-*, fsevents) from the leg's own npm ci into the restored tree, then verifies the bundled-native closure (koffi triplets, better-sqlite3 prebuilds, wreq-js, onnxruntime with its documented darwin-x64 exemption) services the leg's platform/arch before packaging starts.
- .github/workflows/electron-release.yml: new web-build job builds the standalone once on ubuntu with webpack and uploads the bundle; legs download, restore, and hydrate it, skipping the per-leg build. The legacy per-leg build remains as a rollback path via the ELECTRON_SHARED_STANDALONE workflow_dispatch input, and legs fail closed if web-build ran and failed.

Regression tests cover archive roundtrip, byte determinism, manifest tamper/smuggle detection, forked-native swaps, and native-closure serviceability.

* fix(ci): pin Build (advisory) to a hosted runner with memory provisioning

`Build (advisory)` has been reporting a permanent red on every PR while
producing no usable signal at all.

Measured over the last 25 quality.yml runs (2026-08-14): not one instance of
the job reached a conclusion. Every sample was either queued on the
self-hosted pool — 2 runners, omniroute-113-6/7, both permanently busy; one
job sat queued for over 2 hours and was still unclaimed — or, when it did land
on a runner, killed mid-build by this workflow's own cancel-in-progress
concurrency. All 6 sampled "failures" are exit 143 / "The runner has received
a shutdown signal" at ~3.5 min into `npm run build`. Zero OOM, zero build
errors. The job was consuming a runner the real gates compete for while
telling every PR author it was broken.

Gap 19 deliberately left USE_VPS_RUNNER governing build-like jobs, on the
premise that the build needs the .113's RAM. That premise no longer holds:
`Fast Production Build` (build.yml) runs `build:release` — a superset of this
job's `npm run build`, plus the CLI bundle — on plain ubuntu-latest and passed
24 of its last 25 runs in ~15 min. The difference is memory PROVISIONING, not
the machine: a 10 GB swapfile plus a 12 GB V8 heap. Swap is the part that
matters, because --max-old-space-size bounds only V8's JS heap and never
Turbopack's native Rust allocation (#6409).

Pins the job to ubuntu-latest and mirrors both settings from build.yml.
USE_VPS_RUNNER keeps its other consumers (ci.yml Build, nightly-release-green,
npm-publish), so the variable stays meaningful. Fork safety is strictly
improved: no PR can reach the LAN runner through this job any more.

check:workflows --ratchet: 186 zizmor findings, baseline 190, no regression.
prettier + YAML parse: clean.

* fix(ci): scope Build (advisory) to fork PRs

Follow-up to the hosted-runner pin in this same PR, after measuring what the
job is actually for.

build.yml's `Fast Production Build` triggers on `push: branches: ["**"]` and
runs `build:release` — a superset of this job's `npm run build`, plus the CLI
bundle. For an own-origin branch that push fires here, so the tree was being
built twice per PR. A fork contributor pushes to THEIR repo, so build.yml
never runs in this repo and this job is their only pre-merge build signal.

That could have argued for deleting the job, except the traffic says
otherwise: 72 of the last 100 PRs into release/** come from forks. The fork
case is the majority, not the exception. So the job earns its place — it just
should not duplicate build.yml for the own-origin 28%. Added the fork filter
to the existing `if`.

Also corrects the reliability claim in the previous commit message. Over a
wider window the job is not literally never-green: across 2026-08-13/14 it
reached `success` on roughly 10-15% of runs (13/138 on 08-14, 7/53 sampled on
08-13). Chronically unreliable, not permanently dead — the conclusion and the
fix are unchanged.

The #7307 guard in tests/unit/build/check-workflows.test.ts pinned the old
self-hosted expression, so it is realigned here: it now asserts the hosted
pin, the absence of self-hosted/USE_VPS_RUNNER in the job's DIRECTIVES (the
comment legitimately explains why the pool was abandoned, so the scan strips
comments), both memory settings, and the fork filter. Mutation-validated —
restoring self-hosted, dropping the swapfile, or flipping the fork filter each
turns it red.

check-workflows.test.ts: 32 pass, 0 fail.
check:workflows --ratchet: 186 findings, baseline 190, no regression.

have pulled ~978 unrelated pending keys into this diff.

Placeholders and code identifiers verified preserved across all 1682 strings.

* fix(radar): trust the served-tier header instead of the signed body field

The signed feed body always carries tier:"live" by design (one signed
artifact per version — rewriting the field server-side per request
would break the exact-bytes Ed25519 signature). The server now returns
the tier ACTUALLY served via the x-omniroute-feed-tier response
header, so free users on a delayed community snapshot no longer see
"Ao vivo (tempo real)" in the UI.

sync.ts now reads and validates that header (falling back to the
body's tier only when the header is absent or holds an unrecognized
value) and stores the served tier in the cache; index.ts already
surfaces cache.tier to the UI unchanged.

* test(combo): shorten an assert message that exceeded the line limit

The assertion added by #9507 was 104 chars, so prettier reformatted it into
five lines on the next commit that touched the file, pushing it past its
frozen size (3449) and failing check:file-size. The message is shortened
(the issue reference stays in the comment directly above); the assertion
itself is unchanged, and the file is back to 3448 lines and prettier-clean.

* i18n(radar): use the canonical zh-TW glossary terms

The machine translation produced retired renderings the glossary gate blocks:
供應商 for provider (canonical 提供者) and 文檔 for documentation (canonical 文件).
Fixed across the 11 affected radar strings; tests/unit/i18n-glossary-consistency-check.test.ts
is back to 17/17.

* fix(radar): point the default feed URL at the domain that exists

radar.omniroute.dev was a placeholder for a domain that was never registered,
so an out-of-the-box sync would fail DNS resolution for every user. The live
feed is served from radar.omniroute.online (the subdomain the design always
specified), now behind Cloudflare TLS. Forks still override it via
RADAR_FEED_URL.

The #8858 resolver only tried <dir(node)>/node_modules/npm/bin — the
Windows layout. On POSIX (GitHub hosted runners, nvm, system installs)
npm lives at <prefix>/lib/node_modules/npm while node is <prefix>/bin/
node, so resolveBundledNpmEntry returned null and npm run build:cli
died installing @omniroute/opencode-plugin deps on every fresh checkout
('npm-cli.js not found next to the running Node binary') — redding Fast
Production Build and dast-smoke for the whole PR queue.

Extract the resolver to scripts/build/resolveNpmEntry.ts with injectable
seams and try, in order: npm_execpath (exported by npm run itself), the
Windows beside-the-binary layout, the POSIX <prefix>/lib layout.

TDD: tests/unit/build/resolve-npm-entry.test.ts — the POSIX-layout and
npm_execpath cases plus a live regression guard fail against the old
single-candidate logic (2/5) and pass with the fix (5/5).

* docs(env): register the 7 env vars orphaned by the 08-05 merge batch

The Docs Gates env/docs contract went red on the release tip: #9260
added OMNIROUTE_INTERNAL_SERVICE_TOKEN(_FILE) and #9324 added
OPENROUTER_PROVIDER_STATS_ENABLED/_TTL_MS without .env.example entries,
and the #9286 Redis sidecar vars (REDIS_BIND_HOST, REDIS_PORT,
OMNIROUTE_REDIS_BIND_HOST) never reached ENVIRONMENT.md. Inherited
base-red on every open PR. Defaults and descriptions taken from the
consuming source files.

* test(ci): stop the promote-latest guard from racing the script's early exit

`Unit Tests fast-path (2/4)` went red on two unrelated PRs today (#8953, #8966),
always on the same case, always with `Error: spawnSync bash EPIPE` — never an
assertion. The file passes locally in 1.8s, so it read as load-related noise. It
is not: it is a race with a precise, reproducible mechanism.

should-promote-latest.sh decides a pre-release VERSION and exits BEFORE reading
stdin at all:

The test harness passed the candidate tags via execFileSync's `input:`, i.e. a
pipe. The child exits, its read end closes, and the parent's write raises EPIPE —
so the test throws before asserting anything. Whether the write lands first
depends on the 64 KB pipe buffer and the scheduler, which is exactly why it
failed intermittently under four concurrent shards while passing in isolation.

Measured, not inferred — same version, growing payload:

         2 tags (     11 bytes) → ok
       100 tags (    689 bytes) → ok
     5 000 tags ( 43 889 bytes) → ok
    20 000 tags (188 889 bytes) → EPIPE, every time

Fix: back stdin with a real FILE instead of a pipe. A file has no reader to lose,
so the child may exit whenever it likes. The script's interface is untouched — it
still reads candidate tags from stdin, exactly as docker-publish.yml pipes them.

Production is NOT affected, and that was checked rather than assumed:
docker-publish.yml short-circuits pre-releases before the helper is ever called
(`elif printf '%s' "$VERSION" | grep -qE -- '-(rc|alpha|beta|pre|next)'`), so the
early-exit branch is unreachable there. Only the test exercised it. No production
file changes here.

TDD — the new case is the guard for the harness itself, run against both helpers:

d1730f5b8a fix(ci): build API-only smoke workflows backend-only to fix dast-smoke timeouts (#7226) (#7758)
dast-smoke.yml and 3 nightly API-only smoke workflows (nightly-schemathesis,
nightly-resilience, nightly-llm-security) ran "npm run build:cli" with no
preceding full build or downloaded .build/next artifact. scripts/build/
prepublish.ts silently falls back to a full Next.js production build
(dashboard UI + ~126 leaf pages + prerender) whenever the standalone
server.js is missing, which is always the case in these jobs. That inline
full build is the actual thing varying 6-29min on GitHub-hosted runners.

These workflows only exercise API routes (schemathesis/promptfoo hit
/api/monitoring/health, /v1/chat/completions, /v1/models, /api/auth,
/api/keys) and never touch the dashboard UI, so set
OMNIROUTE_BUILD_BACKEND_ONLY=1 on their "Build CLI bundle" step — an
existing, previously-unused escape hatch (scripts/build/backendOnlyPages.mjs)
that stubs the dashboard pages before the build and restores them after,
leaving every route.ts API handler intact.

npm-publish.yml is intentionally left untouched: it legitimately ships the
full dashboard UI in the published npm package.

Regression guard: tests/unit/build/backend-only-smoke-workflows.test.ts
asserts OMNIROUTE_BUILD_BACKEND_ONLY=1/OMNIROUTE_BUILD_PROFILE=backend on
all 5 "Build CLI bundle" steps across the 4 fixed workflows, and asserts
npm-publish.yml's build step is NOT backend-only.

c859931314 fix: add dashboard-scoped typecheck gate covering src/app/(dashboard) TSX (#7033) (#7203)
typecheck:core (the only blocking CI typecheck gate) runs against a
curated 27-file allowlist that excludes all src/app/(dashboard) TSX, and
next.config.mjs sets typescript.ignoreBuildErrors: true so next build
never type-checks it either. Orphaned-identifier regressions there (the
exact class fixed in #6625/#6909) were invisible to CI.

Adds tsconfig.typecheck-dashboard.json (extends tsconfig.json, scoped to
src/app/(dashboard)/**/*.ts(x)) plus check:dashboard-typecheck, a gate
script that runs tsc against it and diffs per-file/per-TS-code error
counts against a frozen baseline (config/quality/dashboard-typecheck-baseline.json,
262 pre-existing errors), following the same stale-enforcement allowlist
pattern as check-known-symbols. Only NEW errors beyond the baselined
count fail the gate; wired as a new blocking step in ci.yml (lint job)
and quality.yml (fast-gates).

Regression test (tests/unit/build/check-dashboard-typecheck.test.ts, 8
tests) reproduces the #6625/#6909 orphaned-identifier bug class against
the pure parseTscOutput/diffAgainstBaseline helpers.
